PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL 2011 delivers record sales and visitors
The 3rd edition of PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL closed on Saturday in Bangkok, Thailand, as the most successful regional exhibition for the packaging and printing sectors. The sentiment was unanimous among the exhibitors from 20 countries at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from 31 August to 3 September 2011.
Initial statistics indicate the exhibition attracted some 17,000 attendees and a four fold increase in international visitors compared to 2009. The exhibition was noteworthy for the high quality visitors and number of new local visitors across the packaging and printing sectors. Exhibitors commented that the strength of the exhibition was its ability to attract the right audience, that is, trade buyers with real influence in the buying decision.
The exhibition ended on an extremely positive note with overwhelming results that saw an increase of about 40% in visitor attendance compared to the 2009 edition. Exhibitors were in good spirits and reported having a steady stream of meetings with high-quality visitors throughout the four days, as well as receiving specific orders. Many exhibitors expect active post-exhibition business and will also continue to use the online business matching service, which is valid for up to one year after the exhibition.

MINISTER OF INDUSTRY OPENS LEADING EXHIBITIONS - Region’s largest showcase of machinery and equipment at PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL and TIPREX 2011

The ASEAN region is clearly a top choice for industry leaders from the packaging, printing, plastics and rubber sectors, says Minister of Industry Mr Wannarat Channukul, citing the internationality, impressive line-up of exhibitors and state-of-the-art machinery on display at the third editions of PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL and TIPREX.
In his speech marking the opening of the co-located exhibitions, Mr Channukul was upbeat about Thailand’s packaging, printing, and manufacturing prospects -- he highlighted buoyant industry growth particularly in the automotive, food packaging and printing sectors. “The synergistic approach in having these two exhibitions side by side complements each industry sector and further strengthens Thailand’s position as a core manufacturing centre for ASEAN,” he said. Touching on the topic of bioplastics which will remain as one of the niche and strategic industrial sectors in Thailand, Mr Wannarat says that the government has invested resources to develop technology to extract, process and convert farm-based materials to bioplastics. “This new industry needs more promotions and supportive linkages throughout its value chain.”
Reflecting continued industry confidence, PACK PRINT INTERNATIONAL and TIPREX 2011 have attracted about 400 exhibitors featuring the largest range of machinery, equipment and innovative solutions covering a combined floor space of more than 20,000 square metres - making the two exhibitions the largest editions since their debut in 2007.
